Here’s How to Thrive, Not Just Survive ❄️🌿
I’m Swedish – so trust me, I know a few things about cold weather! 😉 And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: don’t resist the cold – adjust to it, embrace it, and adapt to it.
Cooler weather isn’t just something to endure. It’s a gentle invitation to slow down, nourish, and care for your body and soul in a deeper, more intentional way.
Here’s how I do it – try it if it aligns, please:
Layer up with elegance.
Keeping your neck, kidneys, and feet warm.
Why are these body parts important? These areas hold and circulate warmth, supporting your whole system. Please check out the Ginger Foot-Baths below! Choose natural fabrics and soft layers that feel good against your skin. Your body will thank you. Remember to put a hat on your head. Heat, warmth rises – so it is in your body as well. With a hat/beanie on your head, you will keep the warmth within.
MOVE – gently, but daily
Stretching in the morning sun – it is not about pushing; it’s about flowing and listening to your body. Gentle rebounding to wake up your lymphatic system. A few yoga stretches and breathing exercises to start your day work wonders.
Stay well HYDRATED
Remember to drink – yes, water. It is easy to forget to drink enough water during the cooler season. You might not feel thirsty, and yet your body needs water to thrive.
Quality of water matters, and I recommend investing in a stare treatment system. There are plenty to choose from. I use the ZaZen Water system. A free-standing unit that provides great-tasting, pH-balanced water, free from chemicals and heavy metals. It nourishes you with Living Water.
🫖 Ginger, glorious ginger!
One of my favourite winter wellness allies, ginger, has been part of my seasonal routine for years. Here are a few easy, soul-warming ways to bring it into yours:
🌶️ Ginger Foot-bath: Boost circulation, warm your whole body and soothe tired feet. Add 1–2 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger to a bucket of hot water. Soak your feet for 10 – 15 minutes. You can add Epsom salts for an extra muscle-loving treat. A treat it is – enJOY!
🧃 Ginger Shots Blend fresh ginger with lemon and a dash of turmeric. A little shot in the morning will awaken your immune system and your spirit!
☕ Ginger Tea Simmer sliced ginger with a cinnamon stick and a few goji berries. I love this warming, soul-soothing tonic that nourishes me from the inside out.
Sleep – learn from the animals and allow yourself to sleep more hours. Take rest and slow down. Draw inwards and practice contemplation. Winter is a time for stillness.
🌸 Slow down and listen
Your body speaks louder in the cooler months. Tune in and give it what it needs: rest, warmth, nourishment. Winter is the perfect season to honour those whispers.
‘If you listen to your body when it whispers, you don’t have to hear it scream’
